Project Overview:
TITLE: IT Asset Physical Configuration Management Project
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
For a large DoD intelligence agency, FSG designed a data center layout, developed floor plans depicting rack locations.
Using an Oracle database, FSG personnel inventoried data center IT equipment information including equipment type, rack location, rack elevation, power consumption and heat generated.
Using an infrastructure management software package, FSG linked the database information to the floor plans allowing automated graphical tracking of IT equipment and datacenter management.
FSG developed configuration management policies and procedures to help ensure the baseline of the current configuration remained accurate and complete. |
